Waterfoot Park is easily accessed from the M6. Simply leave the motorway at Junction 40, head west along the A66 (signposted to Rheged and Ullswater 'Steamers'), then turn left on the A592. Follow the road for about three miles. If you reach the lake, you've gone too far!
Carlisle Airport is now receiving inbound flights from Dublin, Belfast and London (Southend). Airport connections to Carlisle Train Station, local bus services and car hire is available. * IMPORTANT NOTICE*
From the 9th September, construction on the new Pooley Bridge Bridge starts. During this time there will only be pedestrian access across the river via a new footbridge until March 2020. Pooley Bridge and the Ullswater Way are very much open for business and there will be lots of extra activity going on in the village including a loyalty lottery scheme. There are extra parking spaces on either side of the closure; on the East side in the village itself and on the West side opposite Waterfoot Park.
There will be a five day period from 9th September when both bridges are being put into place and unfortunately there will no access by foot or car at this time. There will be a free shuttle bus around the diversion, here is the timetable. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Stagecoach's diverted bus route timetable can be found here.
Please Note: We are NOT Sat Nav compatible. Many GPS systems will take you down a narrow track unsuitable for caravans, so please take note of the directions above.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions we would like to hear from you.
